National Society of Black Engineers - Alumni Extension | Washington, DC Metropolitan Chapter



Established in 1989 and officially charted in 1990, the objectives of NSBE-AEDC have and continue to be: 

·   The advancement of minority engineers and techincal professionals in industry

·   Promoting as well as retaining the number of students currentlypursing engineering degrees at the undergraduate and graduate level

·   Stimulating and developing studentinterest in science and engineering; as well as supporting NSBE and its local DC Metropolitan student chapters.

Members represent Washington, DC, Suburban Maryland and Northern Virginia. NSBE-AEDC's success in fulfilling its mission is reflected in its status as the 2000, 2001, and 2009 NSBE Alumni Chapter of the Year.

NSBE-AEDC is recognized as NSBE's largest alumni chapter in the United State, and as NSBE-AEDC continues to grow, so will its impact on the community at large.
